(BACOSA) ALUMNI
About BACOSA:
BACOSA is an association of graduates of long-term courses in sustainable
agriculture and rural development. Currently those involved are
the CSARD graduates but soon the DSARD graduates will be incorporated.
Associate membership is also open to persons or organizations that
support Baraka Agricultural College mission
The sixth annual general meeting of BACOSA ( Baraka Agricultural
College Old Students Association) will be held towards the end of
2006, at the college.
- To provide support systems that will enable past students of
Baraka Agricultural College achieve their full potential using
the locally available resources
- To promote the mission of the College in Eastern Africa .
Objectives:
- To promote the welfare of Baraka past students by encouraging
members to initiate economic, social and cultural development
activities.
- To promote networking and collaboration with past students and
other like minded individuals and organizations.
- To promote a rural youth movement in East Africa
- To improve the capacity of members by organizing in-service
training courses and seminars.
- To provide training opportunities for college students.
- To assist in job training through volunteers programmes.
- To provide support to the less privileged members within the
constrains of the association.
- To empower women to take their rightful role in development.
Strategic goals:
• To develop an appropriate structure that will facilitate
the management of BACOSA.
• To enhance financial capacities of BACOSA as an association
• To improve the living standards of BACOSA members
• To enhance effective communication, networking and collaboration
among members and partners.
Strategic plan:
BACOSA in collaboration with Baraka Agricultural College is working
on a strategic plan. The strategic plan will guide BACOSA activities
in its efforts to realizing its vision.
Membership:
BACOSA registration fee is Ksh300 and the annual subscription is
Ksh500. For past students wishing to join BACOSA Savings and Credit
Scheme a minimum monthly contribution of Ksh200 is required. Money
